Community Program: ESL, Civics, and Citizenship Education
The Justice for Jenny Foundation is sponsoring FREE ESL, Civics and Citizenship Education for the community. The ESL courses are designed to learn how to speak English about everyday life, workplace and school. The Civics and Citizenship courses are for learners interested in taking the American Citizenship test. These courses explore vocabulary and expressions needed to prepare for the test. We encourage you to take both courses, even if you don’t plan to take the citizenship test, but it’s up to you. But if you do, it is recommended to take the ESL courses up to an Intermediate level before proceeding to the Citizenship courses.
We will have more information about the program available soon. Right now we are accepting Student Intake forms to determine dates and times to give the classes, based on group availability. We encourage interested learners to fill in the Student Intake form as soon as possible, as we want to create a late summer group, if possible (around August 2024).
We are offering the 2 courses below (but we hope to expand the program based on need):
- ESL Everyday English
- American Citizenship

We have an intake form for students to apply to the program. This program will offer English as a second language (ESL), civics, and citizenship programs to help immigrants adjust to life in the United States and prepare for citizenship. Courses will be offered online at first, but we are hoping to expand to in-person based on community needs.
Please fill out the Student Intake form by clicking on the title below or follow the link to the form by clicking through from the brochure. You also have the option to print the form and submit it to the email address you see in the image below. Once registered through the intake form, you will receive an email asking which of the courses you want to join. You have the option to take both.
