Education

Education is so important. I recall when I was attempting to return to school after our first daughter was born. My boyfriend/fiance of 6 years would get angry. He didn’t want me leaving our home; especially since I would be around other people. He also didn’t like being left home with our daughter. As soon as class was over at twelve, my phone would start ringing and on the other end of the line would be my daughter’s father. Yelling at the top of his lungs, “Where are you?! You should be home already!!! What’s taking you so long??!!”. This was him losing control over me. After all, it is easier to manipulate an undereducated person. As soon as I would make it home, not a hello and he was out the door. He would simply hand over our daughter to me and walk straight out.

Education is important so that you can know the signs. Knowing these similar patterns can help bring awareness to those that have not seen this pattern.
